September 20, 2006 - Since E3, we’ve been reporting impressions of the arcade version of Virtua Fighter 5, the latest chapter in SEGA’s fighting franchise. We’ve known for quite some time that the game was going to be coming to the PS3; similarly, we’ve been told that the console’s graphics would equal those of the arcade machines, but we haven’t had a chance to measure the visuals side by side. That is, until recently.
Last week, we announced that Sega had started releasing screens of the PS3 version of Virtua Fighter 5. This week, we have three brand new Virtua Fighter 5 screens to share with you. While there’s no comparison to seeing the game moving in real time, the screens do appear to be extremely close to actual video of the arcade game, which definitely bodes well for SEGA’s claims of making a visually exact port of the title.
While we still haven’t heard any details on the exclusive modes for the PS3 version of Virtua Fighter 5, we do know that the game will be playable on the floor of TGS, so hopefully that information will be revealed as the show kicks off. Check back here for any possible updates, but till then, take a look at these new screens.
