That is an anti roll bar for the top side of the engine and it’s mounted on the top of the absorber.
Due to the weight of the engine and the movement of the car, when making a cornering the inertia force of the the engine has increased. Hence the engine is mounted on the car body, this will create a twisting force on the body.
The useful of the anti roll bar shown on the above picture is to increase the strength of the car body so that the twisting forces can be minimize. By this could help a lof when doing a quick cornering.
