For those who has use illegal license of xp or vista, when you need to update to original license,
you can goto here:
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/PkuInstructions.aspx?displayLang=en
download the key update tools
and update with the license key without formatting the hard disk.
I have try to key in xp sp1 license key into my xp sp2(pasar malam license) and works fine.

You’ll need original keys for step 4 …
After updating your product key you will be required to activate Windows. Once Windows is activated, you can verify that your copy of Windows is genuine by going to http://www.Microsoft.com/genuine and clicking Validate Windows.
